Why are there some people who don't believe in viruses?

I tried my best to look at the arguments these incredibly vocal internet activists were saying, but it just broke my brain and gave me so much cognitive dissonance that I didn't even know where to start. Some of them think everything attributable to viruses is the result of parasites or other things.
