How did you know what to study?
I'm 29yo in a dead end job that kills my back and want to go back to studying, but there's nothing I really like and many things I have interest in, so I took a UCAS quiz. How do I choose from here? There's so many things I'd like to choose, but can only choose one, preferably that I like and has a high rate of employability.

At this point just do coding bootcamps, you will eventually land a job at a company that pays to train you futher. Even Amazon warehouse packers get free training in data science etc.

I guess you have already a lot of live and work experiance which build the foundation to study in a related field. And you have to answer yourself the following questions: What are my expectations? Do I need an acedemic title? Do I want to build up new skills? Which skills do I have? For example If you are already programming without any degree, there might be something like business management related the best choice to gain a degree and work in an adjacent field.

I didnt and still dont, work a labor job you like and study as a hobby. Also if you stop renting asap, buy a house asap, even if it means adding 30min to your commute

the art of studying is based off environmental factors more than it is desires, while science demands a certain level of consistency thats on par with true independence.

Not in my case. The jobs I had have nothing to do with the course I got in school, which I'm not interested anymore. Playing vydia and reading philosophy and history do not provide a stable career.

Is this a joke? Yeah, there's nothing better than killing your back and joints in a daily basis, mate. Also, forget buying a house in England. Cheapest one you'll find is about £110k for 1 room, may need repairing, it's attached to a neighbour and you don't own the land.

If you want to start over new. Electrical Engineering offers well paying professions, but it is hard and needs a lot of dedication. But within 3 to 4 years you have a skillset that is desperately needed in the world. There are a lot of different directions of Electrical Engineering Automation, Energy, HW/SW development.

Sounds a bit like a travel blogger...
It is difficult to achieve a stable high income out of it. So there might be the option to so something tourism related, but this field is rather bad paid.

I was offered to become an electrician at the place I work. Did it for 3 months as an apprentice and didn't like it.

That, and I'm not interested in showing people around. And even if I was, tour guides often stay in an area or country at most.

Take pre-reqs at community college and go from there. You can't possibly know what you will be interested or not interested in until you start learning.

Universities recommend finding what course you want to go for first in order to backtrack. This makes more sense because, let's say I want to end up in a Maths and Science course, there's no point in taking English as a pre-req, as I would spend money and time unnecessarily.
I should also mention I'm in England but not from here, so I'll have to and want to start from the ground up with GCSEs, and then A Levels or Access to Higher Education, which awards the same amount of points required to enter university.

Out of this reply my assumption was that you might be a bit interested in PC hardware, CPU, GPU,... And might have already gained an above avarage knowledge on any of this that can convert in to a high paying job with studying Electrical Engineering.

Not interested in hardware side of things. I've been in a course that had server management and I din't do well. I know more than the average person about computers because I've dealt with them since I was 6.
