hi anons,
I am going to college this fall for the first time after 3 years of neeting
I am going for a math and CS joint major and I have now exactly 8 months to prepare.
What do you think is the best preparation ?

I did engineering, but here's a couple pointers.
1. If you're a procrastinator, GET THAT SHIT UNDER CONTROL NOW!
2. Grades are fucking important, take them seriously. Aim for an A in every class.
3. Getting good grades isn't just about studying hard. You also have to know which professors to take classes with. A group of friends you can rely on for homework also helps a ton.
4. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OFFICE HOURS!!! Even if you can find an answer on Khan Academy or Youtube, go ask your instructor questions. Don't overdo this of course, but it's important for your career for them to know you as a hardworking, inquisitive student.
5. Aim for at least a master's degree. Prior research experience helps a ton for getting into grad school, so ask professors for available research internships after your first year.
6. Your summers should be reserved for internships. They're fucking important.
