Anyway, while I do believe that hospitals got crowded here in Germany, this happens sometimes during flu season. 6000 ICU beds were discontinued in Germany in 2020 because the government offered compensation for full ICUs. All hospitals immediatly reduced ICU beds, so they could get their hands on that compensation money. The result of course was that ICUs that had been sufficient before were now easily overwhelmed.
