Some people blame the invention of light, making our circadian rhythm fucked because the blue light imitates the factors that our brains consider for detecting that the sun is still up.
However, I think the issue is a bigger psychological problem of not accepting that we have no control over the day and night cycle. We do not accept that there are 24 hours in a day. We know it, but we just don't psychologically accept it. We do not like this lack of control.
How many times have you wanted to continue playin vidya up until past midnight instead of just going to bed early and continuing playing vidya when you wake up?
This issue is not just with videogames, binge watching TV shows, reading, etc. All activities that we choose to not postpone when we easily could.
It is a fundamental sign of a lack of self-discipline and planning for the day. The day and night cycles are concrete. We can't delay them, move them, or increase the number of hours in a day, and this is essentially why we need to plan around them, and not despite them.
If you can't control the days and nights, then you're better off controlling your brain and body with proper scheduling and planning for the day.
