>What do you mean?>The magnets repel each other>"why..or how?">.........(oh shit)Every time. Every thread. Everywhere really. The more times I watch this video, the more I find myself comparing it to how these magnet threads go. It's almost as if this video is the ideal standard model for how they're supposed to go. A prediction posted just in time for the potential 300+ reply thread.
Someone comes here and genuinely ask the question, or they ask because they saw an article on ED and wanted to troll /sci/ (which is funny because even they have a shitfit over how magnets actually work). Some parrot responds with something along the lines of:
> "uh they attract"Which of course just repeats the premise of what was asked. And when it's elaborately asked again...the elephant in the room comes in and the awkward pause manifests.
>"Listen here you little shit, it's "Aunt Minnie on Ice" story telling time"Then the coping mechanisms start coming out and they start explaining both why they can't explain how they work and why they can't explain how they work to you because you're too unintelligent enough to understand the fact they have no idea how a magnet works. This process usually takes the most time. It's the which will hopefully distract and deride long enough for you to forget what you're even asking (or hopefully gets you to question your questioning). If you get past that point it goes rinse repeat starting back to:
>"I can't really do a good job of explaining magnetic force in terms of something else that you're more familiar with because I don't understand it in terms of anything else that you're more familiar with".And then everybody clapped.
