Obviously we don't know for sure so I can't shit all over it.

OP here, can agree with you almost totally, but I have not heard many theories like this so I found it interesting at least.

Of course it's like a dressed-up simulation theory with a small vocabulary, but I am almost hopeful to this idea, can't pin why. Curious if there is a better source to soak similar ideas?

Consciousness being outside of physical reality with the brain acting as a way to tune into the consciousness field is part of what Sufism, Kabbalah, Gnosticism, Advaita Vedanta and really any esoteric side of mainstream religions will tell you
These ideas are "clearly" either the truth or something so fundamentally apparent as to have been "independently" arrived upon over and over throughout history

Can't think of a particular source which will cover the topics that isn't completely whack job or only concerns part of the picture
Recommend researching Advaita Vedanta as a start and doing some thinking for yourself regarding philosophy of being

Great response, very appreciated & I think, at the very least, it solidifies in me that all of this should be obvious. Maybe today we are so distracted & hung up on life that we don't have the instinctive approach to reach conclusions that other sentient life may have.
