Consider Merkel, PhD in a top tier science, no one read or cared about her research, virtually no citations and its very likely she just copied what others did and published it as "findings"


Now... as someone who is just larping as a great scientist, will this work for me assuming I just want power and wealth? Did it only work for her as she's a woman, and perceptions of trivial feats by women are magnified trillion folds?

tl;dr,

should I just keep pushing out larp publications and impressive sounding findings from my tier one institution affiliation (literally almost no.1 in the human history)...and focus on accumulating power/wealth outside of this job, or instead focus directly on the science
