So for context I go to one of the University of California schools, and for the first 2 weeks they are making classes online because of omicron
My biology classes last quarter were only offered online, and since i didn't have a choice I had to take it online. Almost everyone cheated in that class. Being a pre med student I obviously didn't cheat because I need to learn this content for the MCAT exam anyways, so it seemed pointless. I ended up with an A- in the class, while my retarded friends found the answer keys and got As, with no curve
It's upsetting, and I can't tolerate the retarded "flipped classroom" bullshit that they are forcing us through. Instead of lecture first, you are expected to study the textbook and do the homework first and then listen to lecture. The textbook has so much useless shit that it's impossible to know what she will cover in the lecture that is actually important.
I was thinking of deferring this quarter after hearing the news that it was going to be online again but with how tight the med school timeline is it seems like I have no choice. It has become retardedly difficult to get into medical school during the pandemic as well. Acceptance rates are 10x lower than normal
Anyone else in academia right now have similar experiences with this shit?
