sin(x) + x = 2x

inverse is x/2

looks like you just let x(y) = y - f(y) to get:
sin(y-f(y)) + y - f(y) = y
Rearranging gives sin(y- f(y)) = f(y).
f should be a fixed function of G(t) = sin(y-t)
Just letting f(y) = sin(y-sin(y-sin(y... gives a really good approximation of x(y).
It looks like it fucks up a bit at multiples of 2pi but is otherwise good.
It seems you corrected the fuck-ups with some black magic.
