>start moving the glass to make it spin
>it actually physically starts moving water in a circle and if you stop it keeps spinning
>200ml of water
>do same thing again
>water surface starts waving but water itself is completely still despite identical motion that should get it to spin
>but instead of physical spinning of the liquid its a wave that's "spinning" along the water's surface, not water itself
>it stops moving as soon as you stop moving the glass, that's not as weird, it requires more energy to keep going
why does this happen?
