In light of s-risks, and unknown unknowns, we are now beginning to realize that a hell-state for a sentient agent is no longer confined to the realm of theology.

In light of this, one has to ask, would a mind survive an eternity of torture in any meaningful way? It seems you would have to "break-up" the experience at some point to make the suffering "meaningful."
