There are tens of thousands of people who feel a hatred and disgust towards baby macaques and/or immense pleasure or satisfaction towards their distress and suffering

Not everyone who is part of the phenomenon wants to be a part of it. Many of us don’t even hate animals, nor do we hate monkeys. Most of the hate I’ve seen is directed towards Macaques, specifically the babies. I’d love nothing more than to not find a sense of satisfaction when I see the babies being dragged by their mothers or having panic attacks after being petted and set down

Monkey abuse threads frequently pop up in /gif/ and YouTube still has plenty of monkey abuse content with thousands of commenters making their hatred known

So is it primordial rivalry/hatred of monkeys? Is it uncanny valley?
