So /sci/, I deal with what I suspect to be a form of dyscalculia. I have serious difficulty doing even basic arithmetic mentally, and have to resort to mental gymnastics and workarounds that seem to be the common experience of many others who are neurodivergent. So I know there are some big brains here with experience in very cool fields such as pure mathematics and very advanced computation and logic etc.
I've taken an interest in computer science (yes, the part about automation, information, and computation) would like to ask how feasible it would be for someone in my neurological position in life to learn about the field in depth?
I'm able to engage in systems thinking and have had pretty great success in studying other disciplines, but I literally used to tear up basic math worksheets in my special ed class, and have avoided things like analog clocks, counting, anything metrical and requiring mathematical input and output, for my whole life - until more recently when I took an interest in computer science and a couple of other technical subjects.
So how could I do this?
