Overpopulation and Malthusian collapse is probably not gonna happen but blights, loss of fertile land due to soil erosion, pollution, natural disasters, etc could cause it by disrupting production and supply lines.
On the other hand Malthusianism also hinges on no new tech and techniques being invented, restoring deserts to fertile soil, new land being made available, etc.
We truly don’t know OP, it could go either way.
My advise is prepare for the worse and hope for the best.
