Is there a concept for the point in a complex system where you can draw a line and say "from here, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts/we have 'emergent' behaviour/properties"? Some kind of "threshold" for complexity where you can definitely homogenise the underlying structure into a system that mimics it successfully (within certain bounds that don't break down into singularities and so on)?
