but even though the universe is the same in every direction as it is locally, i still need a massive $1488 trillion space telescope to look at space even though its the same everywhere else as it is here. also my megabux telescope needs to have incredibly accurate pointing mechanisms, because even though the universe is random, isotropic and uniform, i can't just point the telescope wherever and look at that, i need to be able to point at specific unique objects which exist in some places, but not others.
