>>14021310>>14021363I agree with these posts. Here are your (you)'s.
>>14021442I also agree with you, Anon, but you must have noticed at this point that there's a stigma of criticizing or critiquing any kind of aspect of transgenderism negatively. There is 'some' small value in just admitting you think something is a bad idea- at least, if any, just to let other people know it's okay to be concerned.
We do need better options/alternatives though, yes, that's the 'actual' issue.
>>14021415It doesn't, but I understand why you say that.
The issue is the 'reported' success aren't objective, they're anecdotal, the sample sizes are very small, I don't think they have control groups, and even if these conditions were met you'd still be arguing for a procedure that does NOT provide a comparable or equal quality of life to people not suffering from this condition.. So they're not even cured.
It's wrong for people to be so defensive and dogmatic about a procedure that's starting point is "good enough" as opposed to being more open to alternatives. I don't see this behavior in other medical communities.
>>14026957^ This though is also unacceptable. This is weird to me. This is the other side of the coin.
We don't demonize, dehumanize, or bully any other group of mentally ill people as much as we do with trans individuals.
Like, if I grabbed Anon's senile grandparent and shoock them and told them they're a fucking faggot and to stop forgetting things- people would be disgusted with me. We understand most mentally ill people are patients, but when it comes to trans people we don't pay them with same courtesy on either side.
