Linguistic skills, more-so then quantitative and visio-spatial, correlate much more with crystalized intelligence (and also general intelligence), which arguably, can be more important for (some) scientific innovations and breakthroughs, depending on the subject matter/ field of study. Crystalized intelligence allows you to have much deeper and nuanced understanding within a toping as you can develop a detailed and vivid library of knowledge for said topic. Fluid intelligence is kind of shallow in that sense, (still VERY important).
