>>14027772Science itself is a leach off of Engineering. Everything interesting, good or powerful that people believe Science allows us to do is actually just engineering for which scientific theories were only invented decades after the actual invention. Not just Statics to build better civil infrastructure etc., Engineering had mastered dynamic systems using heuristics and control systems centuries before Newton even figured out Aristotle's model was wrong.
Engineering and Applied Mathematics developed everything. Science just refined models of already working systems (that were usually worthless at that point and has never applied to new systems of emerging interest). Even worse is that people make the mistake of believing rigorous (but useless) fields, like Physics fall within this same discipline of "Science" as brain dead, barbarous, pre-Alchemy fields like Medical Science and Biology which have essentially no predictive or even replicative power.
I am sad that Physics and Chemistry will die when it gets dragged down into the muck of irrelevance by popular Science. But Math and Engineering will stand unstained by its fall.
