Math is just math, physics borrows some (but not all) properties of math since it's useful to model things but the two are fundamentally unrelated.

Not exactly. Math studies patterns, properties, etc. A lot of times those a fraction of those patterns end up being the same as those found in nature. But math doesn't concern itself with being correct for science's sake but for math's sake.

Yes, but it is a relation of "contains" (and when inverted, "is contained by"). Math contains science insofar as the rules of science can be taken as axioms from which we are able to derive scientific theorems. Included in these rules is scientific induction. We can then see substructures of science and other mathematical structures as isomorphic, and so immediately derive those theorems proven from the mathematical structure in the science however they are "translated" into science.

Mathematics is beginning from a truth and deriving further truths.
Science is beginning with a guess (usually a lie) and trying to disprove it until we are confident it is indistinguishable from the truth.
Their name for this guess is a model, the truth is reality.
Maths comes in at the disproving step, you assume the guess is true then derive other things that must also be true and see if they are.

Well science is older.
For a long time people just thought (and many still think) maths is just a step in the science / engineering process.
As far as I'm aware, maths for maths' sake is a relatively recent invention.

Math is the language in which science is written.
It's like asking if English is related to the Declaration of Independence--the declaration was influenced by the culture of the language and is written in that specific language.
You can summarize science in laymens terms like "gravity is the force you feel that pulls down" but that would be like saying the Declaration simply says "The USA is a new country now"
You need math in order to accurately and completely convey the ideas of science.
