I have a North African co-worker who has a Polish wife.
Their child, has blue eyes.
How could this theoretically be possible? I asked him in an after-work party wether he has any ancestors have blue eyes, but he said that no, everyone in his family have medium brown eyes like his.
To make matters more complicated, their son resembles his father very strongly except being lighter skinned compared to his olive-skinned father and his eye color.
Now, if my middle school-tier biology knowledge does not lie, this should be impossible. BB (Brown Brown) + bb (blue blue) alleles can only create Bb (Brown blue) eyes which will result in brown eyes. And because the child's resemblance to his Nafri father made the chance of the father being cucked quite low, i started researching on the internet.
And let me tell you, the internet is fucking filled with contradictions when it comes to eye color. Half the sources agree with me, but the other half say that it's much more complicated than two alleles.
Furthermore, i also know many examples of blue eyed parents having brown eyed children. How could this be possible? bb + bb should not be able to create brown eyed children, yet they do.
Can anyone explain this to me? Are these charts outdated?
