The most efficient, best way to learn science is to actually go to an institute of higher learning. This makes the current moment difficult because of the pandemic.
You might be thinking, well, I am different, I will do it my way on my own. You are not only wrong, you are fully sabotaging yourself. There is no substitute for collaborative learning. There is no substitute for the motivation and focus that actual in-class learning and testing, etc. provides. There just isn't. I would suggest making the leap to resolving to go back to school, to get a bachelor's degree in the science, or else realize you are not serious and not going to succeed, for 99% of all outcomes.
And even if you do "learn on your own", nothing will substitute for the life experience, the social and professional opportunities lost.
Its just a way of short-changing your dreams, and shooting for a very low bar. I don't recommend it. Its a great way to end up alone in a cabin inna woods, pretending you are doing physics.
