Faggot it only expires if they don't take legal action before the statute of limitations date. If they file a lawsuit it resets the clock. As a fellow leaf I can tell you that you could have made use of the consumer proposal option which is a pretty good alternative to running away.

They couldn't file a lawsuit because noone knew where I was and they couldn't prove they made a reasonable effort to track me down, so it expired. You don't say what country you're in so I can't really give you specific advice. Anyway if it's credit card debt that means it's unsecured. Assuming you don't have any other assets besides your current residence and car, just default on it. It will mess up your credit for several years but given the mess you've managed to make you probably shouldn't have credit anyway. Also, whatever you do *do not* take out secured debt (ex. 2nd mortgage) to pay for it.

Yes. Emigrate and make a deal with the credit card company from overseas. They will settle for some token payment. I have seen it done, people flee Israel in debt or come to Israel in debt, its 90% forgiven.
