>>13998502I'm just here wondering how crazy will be the first Martian crewed launch and landing .Dearmoon and Artemis III will be like the entrée to it some years prior, in a way similar to Apollo. Yeah, some preparation for the refuelling launches, but a single a launch at the end with crew and then the landing (for Artemis).
But for Mars it's gonna be a never-ending event. From crew selection, to the hype leading to the day(s, because of refuelling) of liftoff, to the launch of the cargo vessels, to the multiple refuelling launches, and finally the crewed ships (more than 1). The livestream for those might accumulate several billions. Then the departure, sporadic updates during the trip, and the landing of all the ships several months later. First the cargo, and then time for the manned ones. Imagine the ways such transmission could go. 7 minutes of uninterrupted terror, or maybe it cuts during it and leaves the entire world in silence, only for it to come back later during the final seconds. The video feed showing the legs touching down and everyone stays silent. Seconds later, you hear 'Hawthorne, Heart of Gold has landed'. That would easily be the most watched event in history.
