I'm on a rocket, launched from a pad on earth, headed in a dead straight vertical trajectory, no deviation, until I reach about 100 miles, slightly out beyond the atmosphere, hover motionless there for about 1 hour, then descend back down on the exact same vertical path.
Will I land in the same point I began on, or will I have moved according to the earths rotation to around 1,000 miles west?
I'm only 14, so call me a dumbass all you want, I'm just curious about this subject and some of the conflicting stories I've been reading about globe vs flat earth.
