So obviously we understand, for the most part, what the expansion of the universe is and how it works (kind of). but why doesn't anyone seem to acknowledge the implications of what exactly that means? that the universe is GROWING. The only correlation that explains something like this is the growth of living things, like trees, humans, etc. Does this imply that the universe is a living thing? Could we truly be living within a life form? It is true that all matter is 99% empty space, what if the universe as we know it is simply life on a subatomic scale? is that really more unlikely than coming up with entirely new states of matter and energy like dark matter that directly contradict many of the laws of physics as we know them?
