>>13993070The only thing we'd be seeing is white dots and clusters of white dots when it comes to galaxies. Even the sun is somewhat false colored when you see pictures online and in books. Take a photograph of the sun with your phone and look at the picture and tell me if you see anything else but a bright white light (sometimes you'll see red but that's from the atmosphere).
Things like pillars of creation actually would just be dark because it's clouds of molecules that are just blocking out the stars in the background. You would need some sort of star that's bigger than the pillars (hint: none exist) that's shining on the clouds to even see what would be there.
