Mars might not have an atmosphere or an electromagnetic field but it has shit tons of salt from its old oceans. Salt mining is the future of Mars, likely to be used for thermal-elegro generation, heating the salt to boiping during the days and insulating it during the night to produce 24/7 thermoelectricity.
