You might get lucky and the government may MAY pick you up, but you'll never work in 'pure math' in industry.
If you're still in your first year, I recommend looking at applied math. Even autistic work like fluid modeling will have more industry work.
I'm just being real with you. Pure math is about as useless as theoretical physics. There is no work in it and the work you do get isn't actually contributing to the world.
