What dictates what numbers are divisible by what? If you introduce complex numbers, you can skirt the issue of the conventional prime numbers, but what quality of numbers dictates whether they are composite or not?

I mean introducing complex numbers fixes the integer primes but then you get stuck with gaussian primes. Surely there's some system that doesn't result in holes.

what if instead of even and odd, we had three way symmetry? Even, steven, and odd. Evens are divisible by 2, stevens by 3, and odds are literally everything else
