Absolutely not within our lifetime. Once, Mars was full of water and clouds and microscopic life. Radiation boiled away the atmosphere and the sun cooked for millenia. Small colonies can live on Mars due to hydrogen in the soil and possible water deep in caverns, but it would take hundreds or possibly thousands of years to supply the planet an atmosphere capable of sustaining fauna without special care.

Terraforming will take a few hundred years.
We need to thicken the atmosphere and preferably produce very potent green house gases.
A thick atmosphere will protect against radiation and the heat will melt the water.
Vegetation and blue algae will convert CO2 in O2 at larger scales.
Perclorates are a non issue before some retard brings it up.

best not to terraform Mars' surface, OP. colonise the lava tunnels, and use the surface to vent the waste gas that comes off our refining operations. Mostly carbon monoxide.
I do agree the atmo needs more pressure, so we'll build the Iron Ring they promised in Warhammer 40000. Put superconducting magnets in that shit, to keep the gas in.
I don't care about being able to breathe Mars' air just yet, start with being able to walk outside without getting irradiated or having my eyeballs explode.

I think we should start with terraforming Venus first because it's closer and more managable despite still being insane effort.
For now to even attempt doing this shit we need to find a managable way to transmort materials into space and build shit there in 0 Gravity.
Until we have some sort of space elevator or a way to get into space without burning tons of fuel this shit will not happen.

It's definitely not achieved within the lifetimes of either us or our grandchildren, and I'd argue that even once it's technically possible it wouldn't be worth it.
I mean, where the fuck would you get all the matter needed to make an Earth like atmosphere? nothing found on Mars is close to covering it, cannibalizing Earth is a stupid option and arguably any other planet we can harvest for that purpose would make a better candidate for settlement.

The problem with Mars is that it is lacking a magnetic field, so the solar wind blows away most of the atmosphere. The trick is to reactivate the generator of magnetic field hidden in the center of Mars. The control room should be inside the great Pyramid.

No, unless someone figures out life extension within the coming decades.
In any case, Terraforming a planet is going to take 1000s of years at the very least, unless the planet you're looking to terraform its already very earthlike.

Damming Sundaland and reviving Lemuria and the Saharan Steppe would take a few centuries. And it would generate an amount of land equal to the Western Hemisphere
