>>13981935I used to love this board
It was always full of pseudointellectuals, with their 50 different "guise where are de alienz?" threads, but at the same time in particular threads/generals it was very easy to discuss specific problems or experiments. /sci/ was never about intellectual discussions (that shit is so cringe), but it helped me learn and understand some practical aspects of my field
But now with covid it is all gone. Whatever spark of enjoyment or advice that was possible to get here has died. Now it's an endless vax after vax after vax thread, with some sprinkle of 'science isn't real', general schizoposting and trying to present completely irrelevant shit as somehow related to science
If this board was restructured to only allow for discussions on practical problems or academia in general, it would be a much better place. Nobody comes here to become convinced to take or not take the vaccines. Nobody comes here to listen to some half-assed rants on epistemology by some highschool student.
But don't act like /lit/ is any better. It simply suck in a slightly different way, it's basically neckbeard central for people who think too highly of themselves and conflate their mom thanking them for throwing out their piss bottles with being an independent thinker
