Any fusion anon here? I see lots of > $1 B investments flowing into fusion startups (and catchy non-tokamak stuff like picrelated), are they legit?

And if so, why are academics still pushing tokamaks?

It's a pretty straightforward scam, to pump up the value of a fusion company by obtaining peer reviewed results that are scientifically accurate, but irrelevant, and sound like viable energy production is near to retarded investors.
Same with lab-grown meat.
A key component is that people really wish these things were possible, so it doesn't take too much to convince them.
