I need a book that will teach me basics of genetics (if it has a focus on population genetics that's a huge plus). I am not interested in a book that consists of 1000 pages filled with unnecessary facts about who did what 200 years ago. I don't want a pop-sci book either with some author telling a bullshit story about noticing he looked like his father when he was 15 years old. Sadly those two types of books are all I've been able to find. If it matters at all, I have a strong mathematical background but work with computers now.
