you guys just proved you have never tried to do an experiment or design anything in reality. Pic related is what happens when you try to do a derivative in reality. I've already said this 10 times, but --I know in theory a derivative is more or less well defined--. What happens in reality is that if there is any noise on your signal at all, and there always is, you get nonsense. I'm presenting a simple example. A sin is sampled. there either a 10% noise or sampling error on it. The output of a derivative is not a cosine. It's just noise. Derivatives in reality always end up being noise. No real scientist or engineer would try to use one in reality.

Like I said, maybe you took a class in calculus and you think you are some brainiac now, but you're an idiot if you think you can just "set-up shit so there is no noise or error." Even if you simulated something in a computer you have floating point rounding error. After only a few derivatives you'll have much more noise than signal. No one uses derivatives in reality. they don't work practically.

ODE solvers don't solve ODE by taking derivatives, retard. I should know I have made several of them. The best wat to solve an ODE is to find a Greens function and solve an integral equation through Lanczos's algorithm, which is repeated integration.

Derivatives in engineering are used when PI control is really slow.
Derivatives have niche apllication but if they were completely useles we would only have PI controlers.
