It was rational to be against nuclear until the world filled up with them, and then of course, civilization pushing CO2 beyond fixing and basically holding the issue hostage.

The hippies were never even above single digits of the population even in the 1960s. They are simple scapegoats, a sideshow. They didn't prevent anything from getting built.
