I'd also assume that it makes you think about the subject in a different way because you deconstruct instead of constructing what you are trying to learn. I only say this because that's how I was taught to look for grammar mistakes when I was younger and the reasoning was that if you read backwards then it allows you to see the mistakes that you didn't see before.
