You have here a 20m box filled with water. AFAIK at bottom you have 195.55 kPa which is almost twice the atmospheric pressure of air.

My question is: If i open the valve, does water come out without air coming in?

i dont think that is the same phenomena even if true.

the condition where air turns into air bubbles in water is the condition where its pressure is less than that of water. i think.

It will work like a barometer where the water will come out and create a vacuum at the top until the pressures stabilize

it will absolutely require air to come in so it will be chugging back and forth. It is very different from using compressible medium, like compressed air which will spew out basically everything to equalize the pressure. Some water will come out and it creates a siphon and then some air will be sucked back in.

yes, this is what i think too. the water will go out and no air bubbles will go in because the pressure of the water is so great that the air instead of creating bubbles(this takes energy) will be simply pushed away. this will go on until the level of the water is ca 10m when the airpressure suddenly becomes greater than the waterpressure and so air will go in at that point.

am i right or am i right.
