I never said that I believed that it does. I only meant to ask what I asked.
So what you are telling me is that the existence of open/closed systems does not prove that macroevolution is true beyond a reasonable doubt, but the fossil record does prove it. Correct?

Correct. The truth of evolution by natural selection is independent of fact closed and open systems exist.

Okay, thank you for answering the question. I would often have anons raise the point as thought the existence of open/closed systems would certainly mean that a microbe eventually became a human being, which I doubted but was open to hearing about. But I truthfully didn't understand how one would certainly lead to the other, it seemed to me, as you're saying, that the stronger arguments for macroevolution were and are tied to things like archaeoptryx and tiktaalik.

Not that anon, but the micro/macro distinction is fuzzy and usually irrelevant. Fuzzy because the boundaries between species are imposed by humans and could've been drawn differently if it was convenient; irrelevant because it's generally used to draw the nonsensical conclusion that a large number of small changes cannot accumulate into a large change.

There's no implication that a large number of small changes cannot accumulate into a large change. The only difference is a description of scale. You're describing the same process at macro and micro levels, that's alll.

It's just because it's more obvious that microevolution occurs than it is that macroevolution does. You can see organisms change and mutate over a short time, whereas you cannot see a single celled organism become a human being. But mechanistically it's the same process.
