I have a silly question.
I know blood is obviously a dark red color when you draw it, but the lab I work in always receives blood when it's a yellowish color, it looks kinda like apple juice.
Is this a direct result of bilirubin build up as the red blood cells in the sample die? Does this happen to all liquid blood over a short amount of time?
