IQ is supposed to be a predictor of success and the best idea of real world performance is what you have done or are doing. Achieving high marks in school is not real world, but things like publishing and academic work is. Creative pursuits and other personal attributes are included in an understanding.
I think this understanding takes more than 6 months and even more than 3 years to really understand. Your university or workplace could give you an accurate assessment. There is no direct comparison so no numerical value can be accurately used.
IQ tests can tell you if you are mentally deficient but not if you are even average or above average intellect. Think of it this way, if you gave Einstein an IQ test written in Swahili, he would probably get a mediocre score but enough to understand, with certainty, that Einstein is at least not mentally deficient. That is all IQ tests tell us.
