I'm only averaging like a 9 and I am a little worried about my working memory. I had a few concussions this past year from playing football, and I am worried that it is affecting me in my college classes - physics major.

Just do it by muscle memory and retracing. Also its practicable. I think its more useful to memorize interacting parts though like multi digit multiplication. Also interesting to note tha most real life algorithms are only a few pieces. You can subdivide the way you stir noodles but to the mind its just one neuron bundles.

Don't worry too much about it. Humans seem to have shit working memory anyway. Our strength lies in being able to divide and conquer our problems so we don't have to keep a thousand active variables in our heads at the same time. And if you do have brain damage, then there's little you can do to change that now. May want to go easy with the football.
