This is supposed to be the stim free ADHD med, and works through different pathways. A lot of people with ADHD only have decent tx response with stimulant medications, and most have medications that work better for them within those stimulant types than others. Methylphenidate (ritalin), Evekeo, and Vyvanse don't work well for me. Wellbutrin taken in tandem with Adderall makes me borderline narcoleptic. You just have to go through the process to see what works.
