About to finish a BS in Psychology. Worst mistake of my life. Crummy 3.0, boring, work with and am associated with brainlets and libtards. Gonna go back and get a Chemistry degree instead, I'm good at it, it's what my brain is wired for, and I like it. inb4

Yeah faggot, I know what's coming. Any tips on what I should prepare ahead of time? Any reasons to talk me out of it? End goal would ideally be PhD. in Organic Chemistry, with a job in Organic Process industry. Pic related, but I'm not a woman or a subspecies woman either.

O/InoChem is easy as hell. I'd recommend taking those postbac, alongside all other prereqs you don't have. If you don't fuck those up massively, then pursue a masters first then a PhD (hell, you could probably even try to do a PhD and skip a masters, if you can manage to get into a program).

Not sure who memed you into getting just a BS in Psychology. It only becomes remotely useful at the masters level, and even then just barely.

Strictly from a practical/financial standpoint, Chemists work very hard and their compensation is not nearly as proportionate as Engineers. Organic Chemistry is based, but it's also a "mature science". I would recommend your PhD work involves computational work instead of being a lab grunt. Unless you're a masochist.

Should go for chem engineering instead of pure chem. Less interesting from a scientific perspective, but if you already have a BS, getting a second bachelor's that requires a PhD to be useful seems like it'd take more time than its worth.

Dude, get a degree in Clinical Research. You can probably find a MS program so you don't have to get two BS degrees. Or get an MPH degree.

Clinical Research is a HUGE field with a lot of potential and jobs.

I definitely plan to get licensed to have small side practice since I enjoy giving therapy already. Right now I'm caught between wanting to go into academia as a research professor and wanting to go into private industry (space psychology is where I'm trying to specialize). I'll probably do academia first, private industry later.

Ochem is pretty different from regular chem. A lot of ochem works on a more stereo scale, forcing you to think in terms of space and bond connectivity. Memorization is practically the least of it.

If you want to be good at ochem, you need to be able to do the instinctive pattern grasping and deductive reasoning that regular chem demands. You can't coast on by being decent at math.
