>>13956797Here's what I remember off the top of my head. Many countries have developed their own vaccines and I've lost track.
Moderna - mRNA
Pfizer BioNTech - mRNA
J&J - viral vector
Oxford AZ - viral vector
Russia's Sputnik V - viral vector
China's Sinopharm - inactivated virus
China's Coronavac - inactivated virus
India's ??? - inactivated
Taiwan's ??? - protein sub unit
Novavax - protein sub unit
France's Valneva - inactivated
There's another subunit vaccine I'm not thinking of, and even more most likely. All vaccines, even when the same vaccine-type, have their unique differences. Some are still in trials so results and risks are still being determined. At this point I'd lean toward not getting anything since Omicron apparently has evasion capability and is fairly minor. If I were forced to choose, probably an inactivated vaccine, but I'm not sure I'd trust the manufacturing in China or India (France's may be trustworthy once it's available). Next would be the protein sub unit, if I'm forced I'll get Novavax when it's available in the states. Last would be any of the viral vectors or mRNA vaccines, though I'll admit to not knowing much about Sputnik V, but the Oxford AZ and J&J have higher risk than even the mRNA vaccines.
