People have more important things to worry about, and most people who are not racist boomers or ignorant trailer trash are not bothered by these issues, because it's just cherry picking and journalistic sensationalism. This is what you need to understand. We live in a society that puts a lot of effort into making its citizens scared of minorities and immigrants. News stories about muh crime rates and muh urban culture and muh immigrants are just one example of this. But maybe, the actual problem isn't muh brown people or muh foreigners, but rather white americans that uphold a system of racism and white supremacy that is designed to exclude these people and demonize them, and in many cases push them out of mainstream society, thereby forcing them into a social system that encourage violence, drug use, crime, etc., and other problems that racist white people like to complain about.
