I hated my linear algebra course and never really understood the core concept. It was just memorizing patterns for moving numbers around in boxes or some shit. Years later I took a computer graphics course that heavily used linear algebra. Suddenly all the concepts made sense and I enjoyed working with them. Why the fuck wasn't I taught linear algebra like this in the first place?

In all seriousness the geometric intuition probably was touched on in your course. But it’s hard to explain and some students would just be more lost, and digressing into topics like 3d graphics would eat up multiple lectures and again, some students would not understand. Lin alg is a really annoying subject to try to teach.
