Personally I haven't seen a good argument against bacterial, parasites and fungi but I see a lot of evidence suggesting that viruses and the field virology need serious reappraisal, especially so called viral pandemics.

To be fair to him, rich people suffered much less from the plague. While the average death rate was about up to 30%, it was nearly double that for the peasantry. But this can be put down to better nutrition improving their immune systems as well as increased capacity for travel away from afflicted areas.
