Probs a dumb question but how do you define a toxin? does mercury count as a toxin or does the term toxin only relate to organisms?

I get you but ive seen other sources refer to mercury as a toxin in one way or another
"Methylmercury at high exposures is extremely well documented as a human neurotoxin"
methylmercury is its organic form

Mercury is fucking poisonous you absolute brainlet. Toxins are made by living things. If you go to /x/ though you might consider it a toxin since mercury is alive and is simply a fragment of the reality fabric itself.
